Driving from DFW

Driving from DFW

Driving from DFW takes about 17 minutes, with International Parkway providing the main road through the airport.

If someone is picking you up, agree on a terminal and pickup point before heading to the curb. DFW allows active loading and unloading at terminal curbs, but drivers who need more time are directed to one-hour parking spaces.

The Cell Phone Lot at the north end of the airport is open around the clock and allows free waiting for up to two hours; vehicles cannot be left unattended.

Tolls are included when an authorized ground-transportation provider, such as a hotel shuttle or shared ride, picks up or drops off passengers. For current road and airport access updates, check the official site before you go: DFW Airport’s travel updates.

Public transit connections

Public transit connections

DFW’s rail connections depart from Terminals A and B, while the TRE requires a shuttle from Terminal D. These services connect the airport with destinations across the Dallas–Fort Worth area, but they do not all follow the same route.

DART Orange Line

The Orange Line serves DFW Airport Terminal A Station, reached from the lower level near Entry A10. It connects the airport with Irving and Dallas, and all Orange Line trains serve downtown Dallas.

You can transfer to other DART Rail lines at Pearl/Arts District, St. Paul, Akard and West End stations. During weekday peak hours, the line extends to Richardson and Plano.

The Terminal A station is accessible and connects to the terminal through a walkway to the lower level at Entry A10.

DART Silver Line and TEXRail

The Silver Line serves Terminal B Station, reached from the lower level near Entry B43. It connects DFW with Cypress Waters, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson and Plano, but does not go to downtown Dallas.

TEXRail also serves Terminal B, running between the airport and downtown Fort Worth via North Richland Hills and Grapevine.

TRE via TRE LINK

To reach the Trinity Railway Express (TRE), board the TRE LINK shuttle at the upper level outside Terminal D Gate D22. The shuttle connects the airport with CentrePort/DFW Airport Station, where you can connect with the TRE.

TRE LINK runs every 20 minutes during weekday peak periods and every 40 minutes during off-peak hours and on Saturdays. TRE and TRE LINK do not operate on Sundays.

If you have checked baggage and arrive at a Terminal A or B rail station but need to reach another terminal, DART directs you to the free Terminal Link shuttle on the lower level, before security. If you have carry-on baggage only, you can use Skylink after passing through security.

Taxi and rideshare options

Taxi and rideshare options

Taxis pick up on the lower level of Terminals A, B, C, D and E. A DFW Guest Assistant is available at taxi stands from 8:00 AM to midnight. For a special taxi request after midnight, the airport provides +1-972-973-4061.

DFW identifies Uber, Lyft, WINGZ and Alto as app-based transportation providers. Pickups are at the upper-level curbside of each terminal, so follow your app’s instructions and confirm the terminal pickup point before you head outside.

What to check before landing

What to check before landing

Check the rail operator’s schedule and customer-care information before relying on a train connection. DART directs passengers to the operators for schedules and further details; fares and a single set of operating hours are not provided across the airport rail services.

Also confirm which terminal you will use and how you will get between terminals if needed. If you are driving, look at DFW’s current travel updates before setting out, since road and airport conditions can change.
