Choosing a route to the arena
DART light rail serves Victory Station, directly across Victory Avenue from the arena’s west entrance. The arena outing is separate from local journeys around Las Colinas and Dallas, which involve a different part of the metro area.
The Green and Orange lines serve Victory Station. If you’re coming on the Red or Blue lines, you can transfer at West End Station; some event trains also run directly to Victory Station. Trinity Railway Express trains serve the station too, but TRE has no scheduled Sunday service except when it adds trains for special occasions.
DART Bus Route 49 also serves the arena. For the trip there, board near West End Station at Rosa Parks Plaza and get off at Houston at Payne. After an event, the return stop is on Victory Avenue beside Victory Station.
For a car trip, the arena is at 2500 Victory Avenue. From a two-star motel in Dallas, the venue is about 8.4 miles away. Allow time to find parking and reach the entrance on foot.

Entry, bags and accessibility
Bag dimensions and inspection rules determine which entrance you can use at American Airlines Center.
Wristlets, wallets and clutches up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches are allowed at all entrances. Purses up to 14 by 6 by 14 inches are accepted at the North, East, West and South main entrances, where they are subject to X-ray inspection.
Medical bags and diaper bags accompanying a small child are allowed at all entrances if they are smaller than 14 by 6 by 14 inches; security inspects them.
Clear bags are permitted but not required. Backpacks, large totes and other bags larger than 14 by 6 by 14 inches are prohibited, and the arena does not provide storage for oversized bags or luggage. Aerosol cans and alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are among items that may result in refused entry.
The venue is cashless and accepts credit and debit cards. Reverse ATMs are located near the Modelo Gold Lion Club and Michelob Ultra Club. Re-entry is not allowed, although a Guest Services Supervisor may approve it in certain situations, including medical needs.
If you need accessible parking, Lot F is the arena’s ADA-only lot. Its spaces are first come, first served, so plan around that availability.

Planning the return trip
Plan your return before the event ends, since post-event transit service varies by event and day.
Some events have one post-event Red Line train and one Blue Line train from Victory Station, departing about 15 minutes after the event ends. Availability depends on the event listing.
For Mavericks and Stars games beginning after 6 p.m., a westbound TRE train toward Fort Worth departs Victory Station 20 minutes after the game; this arrangement does not apply to Sunday games or events.
When you choose rail, check the schedule for your direction and day rather than assuming a late train will be available. If your trip also involves Dallas Love Field, it is about 19 minutes by car from Tropicana Inn; airport travel from the motel calls for separate planning.
If you take a taxi, the venue’s post-event locations are on Houston Street south of Payne Street and on the south side of Nowitzki Way.
Schedules and event services can change. Check DART and American Airlines Center information before you travel, especially when timing your trip home.
